Read the extracts given below and answer the questions that follow:
“for permanent cookhouse duties, I’ve decided that Private Quelch is just the man for the job.” Of course, it was a joke for days afterward; a joke and joy to all of us.
(a) Who sent Quelch for cookhouse duties?

(a) Corporal Turnbull sent Quelch for cook-house duties.
(b) It was a joke for Quelch’s colleagues.
(c) Quelch was snubbed publicly. It was a ‘joke and joy’ to all.
