(a) crystals immediately melt

(b) a brown residue is left

(c) white fumes appear in the test tube

(d) a yellow residue is left

(b) Pungent smelling, brown fumes are evolved due to NO2 gas and brown coloured residue of lead oxide (PbO) is left.

2Pb(NO3)2(s) ▵ →2PbO(s) + 4NO2(g) + O2(g)
