Of the three metals X, Y and Z, X reacts with cold water, Y with hot water and Z with steam only. Identify X, Y and Z and also arrange them in order of increasing reactivity.

X’ is sodium or potassium metal.
2Na(s) + 2HsO(l) → 2NaOH(aq) + H2(g)

Or
2K(s) + 2H2O(l) → 2KOH(aq) + H2(g)
‘X’ ‘cold’
Fe < Mg < Na < K is an increasing order of reactivity.
