A lamp consumes 1000 J of electrical energy in 10 s. What is its power?

Given, 

Energy consumed = 1000 J

Time = 10 s

Power = \(\frac{Energy\;consumed}{Time}\)

= \(\frac{1000 J}{10 s}\)

= \(100 Js^{-1}\)

= 100 W (∵ 1 Js-1 = 1 W)
