Using the words given above rewrite PART I of the poem in your own words.
At length did cross an Albatross,
Through the fog it came;
As it had been a Christian soul.
We hailed it in God’s name.

Amid the havoc, an albatross came emerging from the fog. The sailors thought it to be a messenger of God and called it on the ship.
