Correct answer: (a) A precipitate is formed which does not dissolve in excess of ammonium hydroxide
Explanation:
Al2(SO4)3 + 6NH4OH → 2Al(OH)3 + 3(NH4)2SO4
Al(OH)3 + NaOH → Na+[Al(OH)4]-
It is insoluble in NH4OH.
