Why is Ka2 << Ka1 for H2SO4 in water?

H2SO4(aq) + H2O → H3O+ + HSO4- ; Ka1 > 10

HSO4- + H2O(l) → H3O+ + SO4- ; Ka2 = 1.2 x 10-2

It can be noticed that Ka1 >> Ka2

This is because a neutral H2SO4 has a much higher tendency to lose a proton than the negatively charged.

Thus, the former is a much stronger acid than the latter.
