- Constitutional guarantees and protections for individual citizens
- Freedom of religion
- Abolition of untouchability
- Outlawing of all forms of discrimination
- Economic and social rights for women
- Reservations of jobs in the civil services, schools and colleges for members of scheduled castes and scheduled tribes.
