Why is the colour of the clear sky blue?

The scattering of sunlight due to the air molecular in the atmosphere causes the sky to appear blue. Shorter wavelength (Blue colour) is scattered more compared to longer wavelength (Red colour). The scattered blue light enters our eyes.
