The presence of molecular interactions (inter-molecular hydrogen bonds) in a solution of alcohol and water lead to positive deviation from Raoult's law. The solution does not follow ideal behavior. In other words, solution becomes non ideal. The vapour pressure increases and the boiling point decreases.
