The generative cell of a two-celled pollen divides in the pollen tube but not in a three-celled pollen. Give reasons.

In a 3-celled pollen, as the generative cell has already been divided and formed 2 male gametes, it will not divide again in the pollen tube. But in a 2-celled pollen, as the generative cell has not divided, it divides in the pollen tube.
