What are the reasons for increase in population?

(i) Ignorance - many people do not know the various methods available.
(ii) Traditional beliefs - many people think children are the gift of God.
(iii) Economic reasons - poor people think children are helping hands to increase the income of the family.
(iv) Mortality rate - the number of children dying among poor people is more, so they tend to have more children.
