A part of a complete circuit is shown in the figure. At some instant, the value of current I is 1A and it is decreasing at a rate of 102A s–1. The value of the potential difference Vp – VQ, (in volts) at that instant is

Vp - L dI/dt - 30 + RI = VQ

Vp - VQ = + 50 x 10-3 x 102 + 30 - 1 x 2

= +5 + 30 - 2 = 33
