What would you observe when zinc is added to a solution of iron(II) sulphate? Write the chemical reaction that takes place.

The green colour of the solution would slowly disappear. Zinc would gradually dissolve and iron would get precipitated at the bottom of the beaker.

The reaction that takes place is:

Zn(s) + FeSO4(aq) ➝ ZnSO4(aq) + Fe(s)
