(a) (i) Atomic number (Z) of sodium (Na): 11

Electronic distribution: K(2), L(8), M(1)

Electron dot structure: Na

(ii) Atomic number (Z) of magnesium (Mg): 12

Electronic distribution: K(2), L(8), M(2)

Electron dot structure: Mg

(iii) Atomic number (Z) of Oxygen (O): 8

Electronic distribution: K(2), L(6)

Electron dot structure:  figure.png

(b) Formation of sodium oxide (Na2O)

Formation of magnesium oxide (MgO)
(C) The ions present in the compounds are as:
Na2O has Na+ and O2- ions.
MgO has Mg2+ and O2- ions.
