Force of gravitation,

\(F \propto \frac{1}{R^2}\)

If R is reduced to \(\frac{1}{2}\)

\(F \propto \frac{1}{(\frac{1}{2})^2}\) i.e.,

\(F \propto \frac{4}{1}\)

The force of gravitation becomes 4 times more.
