Mass of the car = 2400 kg

Initial velocity u = 20 m/s

Final velocity v = 0 m/s

Time t = 10 s

Retardation a = \(\frac{v - u}{t}\)

= \(\frac{0 - 20}{10}\) = -2 m/s2

Force = m x a

= 2400 x -2 = -4800N
