The value of Kp for the reaction:

2H2S(g) = 2H2(g) + S2(g) is 1.2 x 10-2

at 1065°C. The value for KC is:

(a) <1.2 x 10-2

(b) >1.2 x 10-2

(c) 1.2 x 10-2

(d) 0.12 x 10-2

(a) <1.2 x 10-2

Explanation:

For the given reaction,

2H2S(g) ⇌ 2H2(g) + S2(g)

Δn = 3 - 2 = 1

KC = Kp /(RT)n = 1.2 x 10-2/(RT)1

∴ KC < Kp

or KC < 1.2 x 10-2
