Correct answer: (b) Mg(OH)2 is not precipitated
Explanation:
pH = 9 ; [H+] = 10-9; [OH-] = 10-5;
[Mg2+] = 1 x 10-3;
[Mg2+][OH-]2 = 1 x 10-13
Given Ksp of Mg(OH)2 = 8.9 × 10-12
Which is more than 1 x 10-13
Hence Mg(OH)2 will not precipitated
