I^- ions react with iodine in aqueous solution to form I3^- ion as I^-(aq) + I2(aq) ⇌ I3^- (aq). When L of solution containing 1 mol of KI and 0.25 mol of I2 was reacted with excess of AgNO3, 0.80 mol of yellow ppt. was obtained.
