Consider the expression ΔG = -RTlnKp + RTlnQp and indicate the correct statement at equilibrium
(a) ΔG = 0, Qp > Kp the equilibrium reaction will shift from left to right
(b) ΔG = 0, Qp =Kp the equilibrium reaction will shift from left to right
(c) ΔG = ∞, Qp <Kp the equilibrium reaction will shift from right to left
(d) ΔG < 0, Qp >Kp the equilibrium reaction will shift from right to left where Qp and Kp term refer to reaction quotient and equilibrium constant at constant pressure respectively.

Correct answer: (b) ΔG = 0, Qp =Kp the equilibrium reaction will shift from left to right
Explanation:
Van’t Hoff reaction isotherm is ΔG = ΔGº + RTlnQp
When the reaction is in a state of equilibrium ΔG = 0
Then ΔGº = -RT lnQp = -RT lnKp
