DNA:
(i) It usually occurs inside nucleus and some cell organelles.
(ii) DNA is the genetic material.
(iii) It is double stranded with the exception of some viruses (e.g.,ϕ x 174).
(iv) DNA is of only two types; intra-nuclear and extra-nuclear.
(v) It contains deoxyribose sugar.
RNA:
(i) Most of the RNA is found in the cytoplasm.
(ii) RNA is not the genetic material except in certain viruses.
(iii) RNA is single stranded with the exception of some viruses (e.g., double stranded in Reovirus).
(iv) There are atleast three types of RNAs - mRNA, rRNA and tRNA.
(v) It contains ribose sugar.
