Atomic mass of carbon = 12g
∵ 1 mole of C atoms weights = 12 g
∵ 6.022 x 1023 atoms of carbon have mass = 12 g
∴ 1 atom of carbon has mass
= 12/6.022 x 1023 = 1.99 x 10-23 g
