Sodium hydrogen carbonate (baking soda) on heating gives sodium carbonate which on recrystallisation gives washing soda

2NaHCO₃ + heat →Na₂CO₃ + CO₂ + H₂O

Na₂CO₃ + 10H₂O → Na₂CO₃.10H₂O
