Fresh milk has a pH of 6. How do you think the pH will change as it turns into curd? Explain your answer.

Fresh milk has a pH of 6. How do you think the pH will change as it turns into curd? Explain your answer.

When milk changes into curd, the pH decreases. Lactose (carbohydrate) present in milk gets converted into lactic acid. As more acid is formed, pH of the medium decreases.
