(a) When do we say that work is done? Write the formula for the work done by a body in moving up against gravity. Give the meaning of each symbol which occurs in it.
(b) How much work is done when a force of 2N moves a body through a distance of 10cm in the direction of force?

(a) Work is said to be done when applied force results in the motion of the body or change in the shape and size of the body.
Work done is given as:
W = mgh Where,
W is the work done
m is the mass of the body
g is the acceleration due to gravity
h is the height
(b) Force, F = 2N
Distance, s = 10cm = 0.1m
Work done, W = Fs = 0.2 J
