Explanation:
ΔH = -92.2 kJ, P = 40 atm, ΔV = -1 L
Using ΔH = ΔE + PΔV
=> ΔE = ΔH - PΔV
= (-92.2kJ) - (40 atm) (-1L) x R/R
= – 92.2 kJ + (40 atm L) × (8.314 JK-1 mol-1)/(0.0821 (atm LK-1 mol-1)
= – 92200 J + 4050.66 J = – 88149.34 J
= – 88.149 kJ > – 88 kJ
