A compound is made up of two elements A and B. The atoms of element B form ccp and element A’s atoms take up 1/3rd of the tetrahedral voids. Find the formula of this compound.

Given, Atoms of element B form ccp, thus no. of atoms = n
No. of oct voids = n
No. of td voids = 2n = 2 x n(1/3) = 2n/3
Therefore, the formula of the compound is A : B
2n/3 : n
2:3 = A2B3
