The main functional regions of the cell are as follows:
(i) Nucleus: It is responsible for all the metabolic activities of the cell.
(ii) Plasma Membrane: the outer covering of the cell that encloses the cytoplasm.
(iii) Cytoplasm: the jelly like matrix within the cell that contains the various organelles.
