Composite fruits develop from the complete inflorescence and are also known as multiple fruit. These are of 2 typessorosis and syconus. Sorosis develops from spike, spadix or catkin inflorescence, e.g. Ananas, Arto carpus. Syconus develops from hypanthodium inflorescence, e.g. Ficus.
