Cartilage is a semi rigid connective tissue that is weaker than bone, but more flexible resilient. Cartilage serves to provide structure and support to the body's other tissues and also provide a cushioning effect in points. Bone is rigid connective tissue and forms the skeleton of the body. It is composed chiefly of calcium phosphate and calcium carbonate. It also serves as a storage area for calcium, playing a large role in calcium balance in the blood. Blood is a fluid connecting tissue. Blood delivers necessary substances, such as nutrients and oxygen, to the body's cells (in animals) and transports waste products away from those same cells.
