Equal volumes of the gases which do not react together are confined in separate vessels. The pressure is 200 mm and 400 mm of Hg respectively. If the two gases are mixed together what will be the pressure of the resulting mixture (temperature remaining constant)

Correct answer: (c) 300 mm
Explanation:
When vessels are joined the volume is doubled and pressure is reduced to half \ Pressure of mixture
= \(\frac{200}{2}\) + \(\frac{400}{2}\)
= 300 mm
