Two glucose solutions are mixed. One has a volume of 480 mL and a concentration of 1.50 M and the second has a volume of 520 mL and concentration 1.20 M. The molarity of final solution is

(a) 1.20 M

(b) 1.50 M

(c) 1.34 M

(d) 2.70 M

Correct answer: (c) 1.34 M

Explanation:

\(M_1V_1 + M_2V_2 = M_3V_3 (V_3 = V_1 + V_2)\)

1.5 x 480 + 1.2 x 520 = \(M_3\)x 1000

\(M_3\) = 1.34 M
