Correct answer: (a) 153.12 g of KClO3

Explanation:

2KClO3 \(\overset{heat}\longrightarrow\) 2KCl + 3O2

2 x 122.5g                             3 x 32g

48g of oxygen will be produced from 122.5g of KClO3

∴ Amount of 80% KClO3 needed

= \(\frac{100}{80}\) x 122.5 =153.12g
