What is pollen-pistil interaction and how is it mediated?

- All those events from the deposition of pollen on the stigma till the entry of pollen tube into the ovule, are collectively referred to as pollen-pistil interaction.
- It is mediated by the interaction of chemicals secreted by the pollen and the stigma.
