Banana produces fruits, but is propagated only by vegetative means. Why is it so?

- Banana produces fruit without fertilization of ovary; the process is known as parthenocarpy.
- Since, parthenocarpic fruits are seedless or the seeds are non-viable, banana is propagated by vegetative means.
