Correct answer: (d) bromine is both reduced and oxidised
Explanation:
3Br2 + 6CO32- + 3H2O → 5Br- + BrO3- + 6HCO3-
O.N. of Br2 changes from 0 to -1 and +5 hence it is reduced as well as oxidised.
