(i) in the first period of the periodic table?

(ii) in the second period of the periodic table?

(i) The number of valence electrons increases from 1 to 2 in the 1st period of the periodic table.

(ii) The valence electrons increase from 1 to 8 in the 2nd period of the periodic table.
