CFCs refer to chlorofluorocarbons. They are generally used as aerosol propellants, refrigerants, shaving foams, spraying agent in scents, etc. They are very harmful, as they are types of ODS (ozone-depleting substances) that lead to the destruction or depletion of the ozone layer of the atmosphere.
