Given: refractive index, μ = 1.5, speed of light in vacuum c = 3 x 108 m s-1 v = ?

Applying the formula μ = \(\frac{c}{v}\), we get

v = \(\frac{c}{\mu}\) = \(\frac{3 \times 10^8}{1.5}\)

= 2 x 108 m s-1

Hence, the speed of light in glass is 2 x 108 m s-1
