Reason: Anti-diuretic hormone (ADH) is secreted by the posterior lobe of pituitary gland.

Explanation:

Diabetes insipidus (DI) occurs when the kidneys are unable to conserve water as they perform their function of filtering blood. The amount of water conserved is controlled by antidiuretic hormone (ADH) also called vasopressin which is secreted by posterior lobe of pituitary gland. Diabetes inscipidus is characterised by excessive urination and thirst. This problem appears due to the increase in permeability of collecting tubules.
