Retroviruses have no DNA. However, the DNA of the infected host cell does possess viral DNA. How is it possible?

Retroviruses have no DNA. However, the DNA of the infected host cell does possess viral DNA. How is it possible?

Retroviruses carry out reverse transcription (formation of DNA on RNA template) as they possess the enzyme, reverse transcriptase; the DNA is integrated with host DNA.
