Volume = 3 m3
Mass = 9 kg
Density of substance = \(\frac{Mass\;of\;substance}{Volume\;of\;substance}\)
Density of substance = \(\frac{9}{3}\) = 3 kg/m3
And density of water = 1000 kg/m3
The object will float in the water as the density of the object is less than the density of water.
