Eohippus is the earliest fossil form in the phylogeny of horse. Origin of horse took place in the eocene period. The first fossil of horse was found in North America which was named Eohippus or "Dawn Horse"., that later renamed as hyracotherium.

It was found during eocene period not during pliocene.
