Calculate the resistance of an aluminium cable of length 10 km and diameter 2.0 mm if the resistivity of aluminium is 2.7 x 10-8Ωm.

I = 10 km = 10000 m

d = 2 mm

r = 1 mm = 10-3 m

ρ = 2.7 x 10-8Ωm

R = ρ\(\frac{I}{A}\)

= \(2.7 \times 10^{-8} \times \frac{10000}{3.14 \times (10^{-3})^2}\)

= 0.859 x 102Ω

= 86 Ω
