Calculate the area of cross-section of a wire if its length is 1.0 m, its resistance is 23 Ω and the resistivity of the material of the wire is 1.84 x 10-6 Ωm.

I = 1.0 m
R = 23 ohm
ρ = 1.84 x 10-6 ohm-meter
we have
R = ρ\(\frac{I}{A}\)
23 = 1.84 x 10-6 \(\frac{1}{A}\)
A = \(\frac{1.84 \times 10^{-6}}{23}\)
= 0.08 x 10-6 m2
= 8 x 10-8 m2
