An electric heater of resistance 8Ω takes a current of 15 A from the mains supply line. Calculate the rate at which heat is developed in the heater.

Given: R = 8 ohms, I = 15 amp, t = 1 sec
We know that
H = I2RT
H = 152 x 8 x 1
H = 1800 J/s
