An electric fan runs from the 230 V mains. The current flowing through it is 0.4 A. At what rate is electrical energy transferred by the fan?

Given, V = 230V, I = 0.4 amp

Rate at which electric energy is transferred = Power

Power = V x I

= 230 x 0.4

= 92W = 92 J/s
