A resistor of 8 ohm is connected in parallel with a resistor of X.

And resultant is 4.8.

Then X = ?

We know that for parallel case

\(\frac{1}{R}\) = \(\frac{1}{R_1}\) + \(\frac{1}{X}\)

\(\frac{1}{4.8}\) = \(\frac{1}{8}\) + \(\frac{1}{X}\)

\(\frac{1}{4.8}\) - \(\frac{1}{8}\) = \(\frac{1}{x}\)

After solving we get that

x = 12 ohms
