4Ω and 2Ω coil are connected in parallel.

Combined resistance is R

\(\frac{1}{R}\) = \(\frac{1}{4}\) + \(\frac{1}{2}\) = \(\frac{3}{4}\)

R = \(\frac{4}{3}\)Ω

Total current I = \(\frac{V}{R}\) = 3Ω

\(\frac{V}{\frac{4}{3}}\) = 3

V = 3 x \(\frac{4}{3}\) = 4 V

Current through 2Ω coil = \(\frac{V}{2}\) = \(\frac{4}{2}\) = 2A
